Christingle Service in Church

On Sunday 27th November Class 2 children will deliver a special presentation during the Christingle Service at St Mary’s Church at 11.00am.  Please keep the date free and join us. Your child should have brought home a Christingle collection envelope.  Please would you be kind enough to fill it with small change in aid of ‘The Children’s Society’ and return to school by Friday 25th November or bring it to the Christingle Service on Sunday 27th November. Every little helps.

School Christmas Tree Ceremony – Thursday1st December at 2.30pm

The Christmas Tree Ceremony is an established and much-loved tradition of St Mary’s.  Over the years, all children have brought in a decoration for our tree, and these are carefully stored in boxes, ready to go on the tree each festive season.  This year, it is the turn of all children who are new to St Mary’s in 2022.   Therefore, please can all members of our new Reception Class and any children who have joined school during 2022 please bring in a wooden or plastic tree decoration on Tuesday 1st December 2022.  At 2.30pm we will meet in the hall and the children can hang their decoration on the tree in this special blessing of our Christmas Tree.

PTFA Christmas Fair – Sunday 11th December 2022 from 1pm

We are so happy that our wonderful PTFA are hosting a Christmas Fair for all families and members of the local community.    There will be a variety of stalls including food and craft stalls. Face painting and refreshments will be available and Santa’s Grotto for any children wishing to meet Father Christmas. There will also be the chance to enter a Christmas Fair Bake-Off competition so get planning your ideas.  If you can offer support in any way, please see your class PTFA representative or Sam Berry.  Please do try to offer any help you can to make this event a success.

Year 1 and Year 2 Infant Nativity

This Year’s Nativity will take place on Wednesday 14th December at 2pm and Thursday 15th December at 9.30am Each child will be allocated 3 tickets.  Please ensure you have completed the ticket request form that was sent via Parentapp.

Christmas Party and Christmas Hat Competition – Thursday 15th December

As in previous years, school will purchase party food and drinks for the parties.  Children can wear party clothes all day if suitable for school/play/dinnertime but if they are unsuitable for play or would be cold to be in when playing outside, please send them in a labelled bag to change into after lunchtime.

The Christmas hat competition has been part of St Mary’s for many years.  All children are encouraged to keep our annual tradition by making their own Christmas hat to wear to the Christmas party.  For the first part of the afternoon on Thursday 15th December we will have a hat parade in the hall followed by class parties in the classsroom.   It would be lovely if all the children took part.

Reception Christmas Performance

Reception children will take part in a Christmas performance on Friday 16th December as part of our final Carol Service in Church. The performance will start at 9.15am.  Please join us on this special event.

Musical Brass Performances

Year 4 will perform to parents at 9.15 on Friday 9th December.  Year 5 children who have small group brass lessons will also perform.   We hope you will be able to join us.

PTFA Christmas Breakfast - Friday 16th December
