KS1 Spelling Bee Final - July 2018

We held our KS1 and KS2 Spelling Bee finals, this week, and what a great celebration they were!

The whole school took part in the Spelling Bee, with three finalists being selected, from each year group, and what super finalists they were.  All the finalists showed off their excellent spelling abilities and did themselves very proud indeed.

I am pleased to announce that the winner of the KS2 final was Grace Charlton from Y3, with Grace Stocks, from Y6, coming second.  In KS1, the winner was Maya Bezin-Alterno, with Silvie Harrison, from YR coming second.

I would like to congratulate all the finalists and especially our winners, this year.

Thank you, parents, for your support for the Spelling Bee.

Anti-Bullying Production - March 2018

The Firhorse Production Team cam to school on Friday 16th March to perform an anti bullying performance to years 2-6 and it was very successful.

Shakespeare Week - What makes a good friend? - March 2018

Class R, 1 and 2 combined together to explore what makes a good friend.

Class 1 Shakespeare Week - March 2018

Class 1 watched the Cbeebies version of a Midsummer Nights dream and acted out a playscript of Titania and Oberons' quarrel. We sang a fairy song and danced along. We made donkey ears like the character Bottom and also magical flower wands to cast friendship spells.  We then wrote a magic friendship spell as if we were Puck to help Oberon and Titania be friends again.

Class 2 Shakespeare Week - March 2018

Year two followed up the theme of friendship by creating 'A Recipe for Friendship.' The children looked at the features of instructions and used imperative verbs to create the ordered instructions. I'll choose a couple of good examples to put on the website.

We also watched the play A Midsummer Night's Dream which they all enjoyed.

All children thoroughly enjoyed working together, across the year groups and worked very well together.
