The St Mary's PTFA
Parent, Teachers and Friends Association 2018-19
There is a well established, active and effective Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) at St Mary’s Membership is open to all parents, legal guardians or carers of children attending school, and to the staff in school. The PTFA provides a wide range of valuable support to school. The Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of each academic year and the committee is elected annually at this meeting. Ordinary committee meetings are held at least twice a term and these are open to all parents and staff. New parents are especially welcome. In recent years the PTFA has generously raised funds for a trim trail and stage area in the playground, bikes for Reception, thirty laptops, books for the reading scheme, polytunnel for our school garden, computers for our ICT Suite, Community Kitchen re-fit and a bike shelter. In 2011 the PTFA funded a wooden outdoor classroom and playground equipment. In 2013, the PTFA donated funds to renew the PA system in the Hall. In 2014-15, the PTFA was able to provide funds for school to refurbish the School Library in order to encourage a lifelong love of reading. The PTFA has also refurbished a dedicated room to support children with SEND or pastoral needs. Each class receives a budget of £1000.00 per year to benefit the children. The school hall has also been refurbished, thanks to our PTFA.
Money Raised by PTFA 2017-18
Last academic Year the PTFA raised approximately £22000 Each class was again awarded £1,000.00 , this was used to subsidise trips, buy resources for classrooms etc. The PTFA also made a contribution of £2000 to school for the roof refurbishment. We have also just agreed to give £700 to the school council as they want to purchase new playground equipment which the whole school can use .

PTFA Upcoming Events 2019
PTFA Pancake Toss - Tuesday 5th March
All children took part in the Pancake Toss on Tuesday 5th March. Your child should have come home with a Certificate for taking part. Please kindly send any sponsor money into the school as soon as possible. Thank you to all families that have sponsored their child.
Non-Uniform Day - Friday 29th March
Friday 29th March will be a non-uniform day. If your child would like to participate, please bring £1.00 into school or chocolate for a chocolate bingo prize.
Mother’s Day Sale - Friday 29th March
Children will be given the chance to purchase a mother’s day gift on Friday 29th March 2019. Please ensure your order form, together with money is sent into school by no later than Wednesday 27th March. (The PTFA are unable to guarantee a gift if forms are handed in after this date).
Chocolate Bingo - Friday 5th April
The ever popular chocolate bingo will return on Friday 5th April! This event always sells out fast to please send your ticket requests into school as soon as possible.
PTFA Meeting – Tuesday 30th April
The next PTFA meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th April at 8pm in school. Please feel free to join us.
Car Boot - Sunday 5th May
Our wonderful Car Boot sale will take place again this year. Please contact the office or PTFA representative for further details of booking a spot.
Father’s Day Sale - Thursday 13th June
Children will be given the chance to purchase a father’s day gift on Thursday 13th June. More details to follow nearer the time.
Family Festival - Saturday 6th July
